Desiree Wallen is (as of May 2015) a graduate of the Masters of Archives and Records Administration program at San Jose State University. Prior to her entering the program, she earned a Bachelor of the Arts in Literature – Creative Writing from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2011 and worked at the library in her hometown of Runnemede, New Jersey, where she worked with the Follett Destiny resource management tool to update thousands of entries in the catalog for an easier experience in locating resources. Along the duration of the program, she was an intern for both the National Archives at Philadelphia, where she assisted in the consolidation of the two locations within that organization as well as worked with the Holdings Management and SOFA resource management database, and the nonprofit In the Stacks, where she gained experience in content management, web marketing, and database creation.
Ms. Wallen is currently seeking a career in archival or records management, and by extension, digital asset management. The e-portfolio created here is to show the various skills and experience already gained from the MARA program and elsewhere.
